You and your team can use almost all teamyell features for as long as you like for free.
This includes setting up people, events & rosters.
This includes emailing rosters, replying to rosters & sending out email reminders.
These features make teamyell an effective well-rounded tool to help you get organised.
All this is free - forever.
There is one feature in teamyell that costs money: sending reminders via text message to mobile phones.
This feature is completely optional and if your team chooses not to use it, that is fine by us.
However we think this feature is so useful that many groups will use it.
teamyell wants to support voluntary organisations. So we try to avoid charging teams.
However we need to make a crust. There are two ways teamyell makes money:
- On the edges of some pages we show advertisments.
We aim to show high quality advertisments that are relevant to your sport or club.
- If you send text reminders to a team member's mobile phone,
it costs you money. In New Zealand, it costs 20 cents for each text message sent.
This is a completely optional feature and you don't have to use it.
teamyell allows you to automatically send text message reminders to mobile phones before an event
- increasing the likelihood that people turn up!
Your group doesn't have to use text reminders at all if they don't want to.
However we think text reminders are so useful that many groups will!
Before text messages can be sent, a member of the group needs
to add some money to your teamyell account using their credit card.
In this regard teamyell works like a pre-paid mobile phone.
Each text message sent chips away at your team's account balance.
teamyell is a free service. They are no joining fees or monthly usage fees.
If your team's account balance is zero, the only effect is that teamyell will stop sending text reminders.
Your team's account balance will not go negative. You will not end up owing us money.
The most your team can spend is the amount that was previously added using a credit card.
After your group has joined up, you can increase your group's account balance by
browsing to the
Balance page
(if you are not already logged in, you will be asked to log in on the way).
To add some money to your group's account balance, click on the 'Pay' button,
enter your credit card details, select the amount you want to pay & click the 'Pay' button.
This page is secured using standard 'Secure Sockets' technology. You can tell when a page is
secure by looking at the address of the page. A secure page will have an address starting
with "https:" (rather than the more normal and unsecure "http:").
Our policy is not to store any credit card numbers in our systems.
We do store the credit card number for a few seconds while the credit card transaction is being processed.
However as soon as the credit card transaction has been completed (whether money was tranferred or not),
we delete our copy of the full credit card number.
We will only charge you for the text message if we have definitely delivered
it to your mobile phone company at the right time.
This does not guarantee that the text message will reach the person immediately. If the person's phone
is turned off or they are out of mobile phone coverage or just not near their phone they may not get
the text message for some time. In this case, you will still be charged for the text message.
If we have definitely and successfully delivered the reminder to your mobile phone company at the right time,
we will have to charge you for the text message. So make sure the mobile phone numbers are entered correctly!
