Groups that want the general public to know what they are doing, often want a public web site.
teamyell groups can have their own public website (called a Portal) for free. View sample

Some groups already have their own website & want to integrate some teamyell functionality into their existing web site. The most common request is to have the teamyell Event Calendar shown on a page of their website.

There are two approaches to displaying the Event Calendar in your website (you can view samples):
  • Add a link on your website which when clicked shows the Event Calendar in a separate page
  • Embed the Event Calendar into a page of your website
Making the Events Calendar public
By default your group's Event Calendar is only visible to members who are logged into teamyell. Before the Event Calendar can be shown as part of your website, you need to tell teamyell that it is okay to show the Event Calendar to the public. To do this:
  • Browse to the member page Portal Settings
  • Click the 'Edit Settings' button
  • Set the 'Show a public Portal' field to 'Yes'
  • Specify the 'Your Portal short name' field (you will need this value later so remember it)
  • Set the 'On your Portal do you want an Events page' field to 'Yes'
  • Click the 'Save' button to save your changes
  • There should now be a 'Calendar' link to the right of the 'An Events page?' setting, which can be used to test that the portal Calendar page works
Link to the Event Calendar
To add a link from your website page to the teamyell Event Calendar copy the following text into your web site page:

    <a href="//www.teamyell.com/ABC/Event" target="_blank" >Event Calendar</a>

You will need to replace the text 'ABC' with the value specified in the 'Your Portal short name' field. That's it.

Embed the Event Calendar
To insert the Event Calendar into your website page copy the following text into your web site page:

    <iframe height="570" width="730" frameborder="0" src="//www.teamyell.com/ABC/Calendar" />

You will need to replace the text 'ABC' with the value specified in the 'Your Portal short name' field. That's it.
