 At teamyell, rostering is about which people are needed at which events:

  1. Available people:
    These are the people who can be rostered against events.
     
  2. Drag people to events:
    There are two ways to assign people to events.
    One way is to drag a person from the People list on the left to the desired event on the right. To do this:

    • Move the mouse cursor over the desired person on the People list at left.
    • Click the mouse button and hold it down.
    • A blue square will appear beside the mouse cursor containing the name of the selected person.
    • Still holding the mouse button down, move the mouse cursor to the desired event column on the right.
    • When the cursor is over a valid "drop zone" the drop zone background will change to green.
    • Release the mouse button to roster the person onto the event.
    • The person's name will appear in the event column.

    There are some other things you can do using drag and drop:

    • You can the remove a person from an event by dragging the person's name from the event and dropping it back in the People list.
    • You can drag a person's name from one column of an event to another column.

    Drag categories to events:
    If your group uses Person Categories then you can also roster by dragging a category:
    • At the top of the People list select the option "By Category". The list of people's names will be replaced with a list of categories.
    • Drag a category from the People list and drop it on an event. The people in the category will be rostered onto the event.
    • If several columns have the same heading (i.e Role), and you drag a category onto one of them, the people rostered will be spread evenly across the columns.

  3. Select people from the drop lists:
    There are two ways to assign people to events.
    One way is to select the person from the drop down list in the desired column of the desired event. Once selected the person's name will appear under the drop list, allowing you to select more people if desired.
     
  4. People rostered:
    The people who have been rostered onto an event appear under the droplist.

    You can the remove a person from an event by dragging the person's name from the event and dropping it back in the People list.

    A person can be assigned to up to three times on the same event. This may show that the person is taking on multiple roles at the one event. The person will receive at most one email and text reminder.
     
  5. Save & Cancel:
    These buttons allow you to save or abandon your changes.
    The "Save" button becomes enabled when you make your first change.
